Smart design solutions are integral to the Ironbox way. Our extensive manufacturing experience means that we bring a very practical approach to the design process, thereby ensuring the design is based on realistic manufacturing options.
From your requirements to detailed drawings
Our design process starts by consulting with you on your project's requirements. This determines the key features that are required in our design.
With the information collected — sketches, sample parts or concepts — we then use our expertise to develop a design that considers factors such as manufacturability, cost, function, environment, reliability and maintainability.
With all this in mind, we use the latest 3D design software (Autodesk Inventor) to effectively create a digital model and detailed drawings of the design.
If engineering certification of the design is required, this can be carried out by our qualified mechanical engineer.
New life for worn or superseded parts
We are regularly called upon to reverse engineer components from worn, damaged or superseded parts.
With our precision measuring equipment, we can determine all the critical features required. And with our wide industry experience, we can select the correct materials and treatments, suitable tolerancing and other critical design details.
Upon completion of this process, the Ironbox team can then execute the manufacturing of your part(s), if required.
